Timothy Neilly was the favorite to win the Men’s Open hard court tournament in Pembroke Pines (FL) and he did so without dropping a set along the way. As the #1 seed he cruised through the rounds with confidence and wrapped up the title after his final opponent withdrew at the end of the first set. It could have been an all L’Academie de Tennis final, had Antoine Leduc won his tough three-setter semi final. Another academy player, Punn Bodhidatta won the consolation draw of the same event.
“It was a good tournament for our boys and everyone fought with spirit on the court. I am sure there are more to come.” – commented Tarik Benhabiles.
